Dr Na'eem Ahmed
Na’eem completed undergraduate medicine at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Hospital where he received the St Thomas’ Hospital Cup. He undertook Academic Foundation Training at King’s College Hospital and thereafter completed Radiology training with subspecialty imaging Fellowship at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
Na’eem is former Editorial Board member for the Royal College of Physicians’ Journal Clinical Medicine and Future Healthcare Journal. He was appointed Consultant Radiologist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in 2019.
Na’eem was appointed to the National Advisory Group for the Keogh Review which looked at the quality of the care and treatment provided by 14 trusts identified as having higher than average death rates in the two years before the start of the review. He has also led a review of clinical leadership development in the NHS for the think tank REFORM.
Na’eem was seconded to the Department for International Development (DFID) where he led a review of UK Aid’s youth engagement strategy for former Secretary of State for International Development Rt Hon Justine Greening MP.
More recently, Na’eem has led NHS England and Improvement’s response to the impact of COVID-19 on Black, Asian and ethnic minority (BAME) staff during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Na’eem has served in several advisory roles including the Mayor of London’s Team London and as a Trustee for Macmillan Cancer Support. Na’eem is also Associate Policy Fellow (Technology and Public Policy) at the Tony Blair Institute of Global Change and a Governor at Kingston Grammar School.
Na’eem is Founder of Selfless, a global health NGO providing healthcare to underserved populations and co-Founder of the MedTech start-up ImproveWell which aims to harness staff engagement to improve quality of healthcare.
He has been awarded the Point of Light award from Prime Minister David Cameron and more recently the British Empire Medal in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2019.
